6th Annual ‘420 Hopfest’ April 19th – 22nd – An Enormous Selection of Pale Ale, IPA, and other Hoppy Treats

March 28, 2012

420 Hopfest first kicked off in April of 2007. It was an extension of an event held on the east side when the current owners of BEER ENGINE then operated the Brew Keeper. The event was called ‘Hoptoberfest.’ The first one was held in 2003. Recognizing that that ‘hoppy’ beer would soon become one of the most popular craft beer styles, the owners decided to make an event out of it. The tradition continues. Welcome to the 6th annual 420 Hopfest.

420 will feature many draft offerings as well as ‘Casks,’ authentic, cask conditioned beer served from our two Beer Engine’s. Cask ale is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. In most cases brewers tend to ‘dry hop’ beer served in casks to impart even further hop aroma. Unlike pellet hops, brewers tend to use whole leaf hops when dry hopping.

TBA: BEER ENGINE will also have special nightly Keg Tappings. Check back as list develops.

Here is a sampling of what’s to come. Founders Double Trouble, Bell’s Hopslam, Brooklyn Blast, Avery Maharaja, Victory Hop Wallop, Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye, Dry Hopped Columbus Cask, Heavy Seas Black Cannon Cask, Epic Hopulent on Nitro, Dry Hopped Buckeye Casks, and many, many more.

On Thursday, April 19th, we welcome the brewer from Boulder Beer to showcase ‘Chicken Dan.’

On Sunday, April 22nd, we feature a Sunday morning Brunch featuring Dogfish Head Brewery. Tickets on sale soon.
