Bill Metzger (of the IPA Challenge/Great Lakes Brewing News) will Host ‘Fun and Games‘ on Sunday, October 17th, 2pm Rough Draft: Approximately 2pm start time. Discussion of newest beer styles and a Craft Beer Challenge. Test your palates and see if you can identify 6 new, American beer styles. Prizes awarded for all 100% winners. Beeriodic Bingo, a bingo game where knowing your beer styles will give you an advantage in winning. Prizes awarded for each game. Details to come and subject to change.

‘RED CARPET’ EVENT RETURNS ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 20TH – THE RETURN OF THE PHOTO BOOTH! Lots of industry folks. If you attended last year, you know what I mean. Details to come.

BREWzilla and Cleveland Beer Week 2009 (recap)

‘BREWzilla was a class act. Cleveland Beer Week was amazing for many, but to wrap it all up with BREWzilla was more than I could imagine. It was the nicest venue I can recall in Cleveland ‘Brew Fest’ history. It took the concept of a Cleveland ‘beer festival’ to another level. It was more than beer though, and that’s exactly how things have progressed. It’s so important to point out how far Cleveland has come in beer culture over the last 10 years, the last three or four specifically. BREWzilla was amazing, and we’re still talking about it. The food options associated with the Winking Lizard, Heinen’s, and Lilly’s, etc., brought the value of the event (beer festival) to a level never before seen in Cleveland. Local brewery participation was classic; many brewers on hand. Some commented to me, ‘the vibe was great…..Wow!….it was the Cleveland Woodstock of Beer Fests…..the food, the cheese, the pretzels, the historic venue, it was unreal.’ We have some great video of CBW events at the ENGINE and at BREWzilla. We’ll upload some of that in the near future. I’m sure CBW will be back again next year. Big and better than ever, which is hard to imagine, really hard to imagine.
